Three Owls Farm is a satellite farm for Akindale Rehabilitation and theThoroughbred Retirement Foundation; boarding and training retired racehorses for a new life as riding or companion horses, whether for pleasure or competition. They are fun and full of character, and need caring homes to adopt them. Contact Daphne at cheese@threeowlsfarm.com. We usually have some sound horses ready for adoption and would be happy to talk and show. Adoptions usually run about $1500, and are a charitable donation.
Mikey, on the right in the above picture, has been with us for four years now. She took part in a Monty Roberts demonstration at the Equine Affaire a couple of years ago, on difficult horses. She is head shy, and afraid of men, but less so each year.
Ante, pictured right, is a grandson of Seattle Slew who Daphne and our daughter Emily are training up for eventing. Here, he is at a Hitching Post, Vermont, novice trial. He loves to jump- even in his dressage test!
